6-month musical theatre production course & summer show

Cast members will learn vocal technique, acting proficiency, script analysis stage blocking, choreography, costume & set design, lighting & sound design, and marketing.

SIX: TEEN EDITION is essentially a pop concert with acting! We are looking for six strong, triple-threat artists who take risks, go big, and are committed to musical theatre as their passion. This program is for those who want to learn the business behind the magic. We are seeking fabulous team players and highly-committed up and coming artists. 

PLEASE be advised: this show is EDGY. We are strictly only allowing ages 13 (as of 1/14/25) through 18 to audition. The show is PG-13 and has occasional sexual innuendos within the lyrics and choreography. We are educators first and will always uphold the actors' boundaries and integrity, while also adhering to the script content and storyline. Actors will be seen individually within their chosen 30-min timeslot. $10 audition fee due upon sign-up and payable via Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, or Check. After receiving your sign-up alert, Emily and/or Jessica will contact you to provide essential audition information and arrange fee payment. 

Audition info: Actors will be given 32-bar excerpts taken from songs from SIX. They will choose one excerpt to perform for initial (round one) audition. We want to see evidence of your "triple threat" skills: acting, singing, dancing. Ages 13 - 18 only. (must be 13 as of Jan. 15, 2025). Headshot & resume required upon arrival. 

We are casting: our 6 Queens and 2 understudies. Each understudy will have a dual role. In addition to serving as swing, they will also be (1) stage/lighting manager & co-marketing lead; (2) costume co-designer, choreography lead/dance captain & co-marketing lead. 

Audition attire: Character shoes highly preferred. Jazz shoes acceptable. Actors are encouraged to dress the part. Go for it and show us your inner Queen! 

Audition Location: Sunbury/Big Walnut Chamber of Commerce (39 E. Granville St., Sunbury, OH 43074)

Callbacks: Sunday Nov. 24, 1pm, same location. Actors are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to learn ALL the song excerpts provided before auditions. Callback songs will be the songs initially given before auditions, but you won't know which ones until you're called back. So be prepared beforehand. Actors will be singing and dancing. Dress accordingly. Character heels preferred. Hair secured / out of face.

Commitment & Expectations: This is a very unique experience. A monthly all-inclusive musical theatre production class (3 hours on a mutually chosen Sunday evening once/month January through May). Actors must be kind, flexible, committed team players. We will be providing information and hands-on experience in: character development, script analysis, acting proficiency, vocal technique, choreography, stage blocking, costume design, lighting design, sound, marketing, customer engagement, set building, and more. Actors must be committed to the monthly classes, followed by rehearsals June 22-July 17 (with TBD days off for July 4th holiday) and performance dates of July 18, 19, 20 at Boxland, 6155 Huntley Rd #J Columbus, OH 43229. We are committed to giving you an immersive musical theatre experience that will BOOST your resume, skyrocket your CONFIDENCE, and broaden your all-around musical theatre production KNOWLEDGE! Cast member tuition is $325 and will be due upon acceptance of role offer. Our cast is small, and this fee will go 100% to the cost of show production rights and initial class materials. Actors will also be responsible for performance shoe cost (which they will then keep), and will be decided upon in the spring.
